The Hove First World War Memorial is located on a wall inside the foyer of Hove Library. The memorial is in the form of several framed brass plaques. The names of 631 men are commemorated on this memorial. A full transcript can be found on the Roll of Honour website.
One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial, together with two of his brothers and another man who is possibly related.

Lance Serjeant Leonard Townsend. 11664. 6th Battalion
Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Sarah E. Townsend, of 30, Harold Rd.,
Upton Park, London. Was previously Yeo. of Sigs. in H M. Navy. Educated at
Ellen St. School, Hove, Sussex. Killed 7 August 1915. Aged 35.
Born Hove, Enlisted London, Wendley.
Commemorated on Panel 55 to 58, HELLES MEMORIAL.
Two of Leonard Townsend's brothers, - Frederick Charles (Royal Naval Division) and John George (Royal Navy), are also shown on the memorial. A fourth Townsend name, Ernest Victor (Royal Sussex Regiment), is possibly related.
