The War Memorials for Quebec were originally located in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Front Street, Quebec. The War Memorials consist of three plaques, - one for men of the parish (various regiments) who died in the First World War, another for men of the parish (Durham Light Infantry) who died in the First World War, and a third for men of the parish who died in the Second World War.

When the Church of St. John the Baptist was sold for use as a private residence, these plaques were then moved to the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Esh.

30 men are commemorated on the WW1 plaque for various regiments.
24 men are commemorated on the WW1 plaque for the Durham Light Infantry, and
11 men are commemorated on the WW2 plaque.

4 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the WW1 (various regiments) plaque. One of these soldiers was the son of the vicar of Hamsteels. The church in Quebec is also referred to as the church for Hamsteels.
