This website includes photos of soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment , who either served or served and fell, in the First World War. Where possible, we include details of the men, - such as where they came from, when and where they died, and any other relevant information.
Some of the photos are of poor quality, as they may simply have been scanned in from old newspaper cuttings. However, if there is an available image, then we will show it. If YOU have any photos of ancestors who served in the First World War in the Yorkshire Regiment, then please let us know.

"The Bond of Sacrifice" Photos and Biographies
A 2-volume biographical record of British Officers who fell
in the Great War. Volume 1 covers the biographies of Officers who lost their
lives between August and December 1914. Volume 2 covers the period January
to June 1915 (though there are biographies of Officers killed in August
1915.)
Amost 1000 pages in the two volumes include the photos and biographies of
about 5000 Officers. However, some of the Officers are included by name,
date and regiment only with no biographical information.
