The website contains the names of well over 9,100 soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment.
Where the named soldiers were killed or died of wounds in
the First World War, we have tried to show photographs of the memorials
on which they are commemorated or the graves in which they are buried. These
memorials or commemorations are shown against the soldier's name.
If you know the name of a soldier in the Yorkshire Regiment who lost his
life in the First World War, the first step
is to check the on-line database of names.
Look for a Name
The on-line database for this website has the following information for the majority of the 9,300+ soldiers in the database;-
1 Name, Rank, and Number of Soldier
2 Memorial(s), Cemetery, or page(s) on the website where information is
held
To use the database, simply enter the initial (or *) and name
(or part name) of the soldier.
The database will then show you the memorial(s) or cemetery associated with
the name, and each memorial or cemetery is directly linked to the relevant
page where further details may be found.
Quite a number of photographs of soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment, - both those who served and those who fell, can be found on the website (all of these soldiers are listed on the above searchable database).

the Great War".

by Robert Coulson.
3 Officers and Men of the 2nd Battalion in October 1914 (The "Old Contemptibles").
A Roll of Honour.
4 The regiment's Victoria Cross Winners.
5 Yorkshire Regiment soldiers "Shot at Dawn."
6 Men of Skelton, Cleveland, who served in the Yorkshire Regiment.
7 Information on soldiers where no photographs of their commmeorations currently
exist.
