The War Memorial at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough.
All photos by Edward Nicholl
The main War Memorial for Scarborough is on top of Oliver's Mount,
on the South side of Scarborough town. From the Memorial, there is a superb
view of Scarborough, and the Memorial itself can be seen from many parts of
Scarborough.
The Memorial commemorates the dead of both World Wars, as well as subsequent
conflicts. The names of the dead of the First World War are listed below. However,
photographs of all the panels are shown below so that it should be possible
to find the name of a person killed at a time other than in the First World
War.
To find a name (all branches of the services and regiments) recorded on the Scarborough War Memorial for the First World War, please select from the initial letter for the surname (below) to be taken to a page for entries against that surname letter. The names of soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment will be in bold type. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
